Alkalinity/pH Control Additives

Available in 50 lb. bags. CAUSTIC SODA is the common name for Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH). CAUSTIC SODA is used primarily to increase and control pH in water-based fluids.
Available in 50 lb. bags. LIME or “Slaked Lime” is Calcium Hydroxide, Ca(OH)2. LIME is used to provide a source of calcium and hydroxyl ions in both water-based and invert emulsion oil-based fluids.

Available in 50 lb. bags, 50 lb. plastic pails, Supersacks, and bulk quantities. (Sodium Carbonate) Used as a buffering/pH regulator in many industrial processes.
Available in 50 lb. bags, 50 lb. plastic pails, and bulk quantities. Sodium Bicarbonate (also known as Bicarbonate of Soda) is used to remove Calcium contamination from water-based drilling fluids, after cementing. It also reduces the pH of the drilling fluid.

Defoamers

Available in 25 lb. bags. Aluminum Stearate is aluminum salt of stearic acid. It is an effective defoamer for many types of water based mud systems. It enhances the breakout of gas and air bubbles, minimizing the foaming tendency of the drilling fluid.
Available in 5 gallon pails and 275 gallon totes. Defoam A is a blend of high molecular weight alcohol, modified fatty acid derivatives and surfactants used in fresh and sea water drilling fluids and viscosified brines.
Available in 5 gallon pails and 275 gallon totes. Defoamer DF-430 is a concentrated silicone emulsion defoamer with superior foam knockdown and suppression capabilities. This product may also be diluted with water and emulsifiers to produce highly effective, less concentrated antifoams. Silicone-based antifoams have been successfully applied in a variety of applications. In addition, they are effective over a wide range of pH and temperature.
Available in 5 gallon pails and 275 gallon totes. Defoamer DF-460 is a premium glycol-based defoaming agent formulated to control foaming in all oilfield applications including drilling muds, fracturing operations, cementing process, well stimulation, production operations, and foams that occur during hydrocarbon refining processes. Defoamer DF-460 is a high temperature product can be used in extreme temperatures.

Dispersants/Thinners/Deflocculants

Available in 25 lb. bags. Desco Deflocculant is a proprietary tannin-based product used for rheology control in water-based drilling muds. It is readily soluble over a wide range of temperatures and is effective in low concentrations without requiring the use of caustic soda.

Available in 25 lb. bags. A tannin-based product, it is effective in low concentrations in areas where the strictest environmental regulations apply. This is the chrome-free grade.
Available in 50 lb. bags. Chrome Lignosulfonate (CLS) provides optimum dispersion and filtration properties in all water-based drilling muds. It will provide for downhole fluid loss control and for deflocculation of clay solids. Chrome Lignosulfonate (CLS) treated muds are stable at temperatures in excess of 350°F.
Available in 50 lb. sacks. North Dakota Lignite that naturally contains a high content of humic acids. Lignite is an economical thinning agent for use in all freshwater mud systems. Lignite is a highly soluble, heat stable, at all drilling depths and is an effective thinning agent in both high and low pH mud systems. Lignite is an excellent emulsion stabilizer and viscosity reducer in high temperature drilling operations.
Available in 5 gal. pails and 275 gal. totes. Thinner DF-2020 is a low molecular weight, anionic, synthetic co-polymer supplied as a high activity aqueous solution for use as a deflocculant in water based drilling fluids. It is a cost effective replacement for toxic heavy metal lignosulfonates, lignites, and tannins. Due to its chemical composition, Thinner DF-2020 is thermally stable to temperatures in excess of 350°F and highly tolerant to calcium and alkali metal salts.

Filtrate Control Additives

Available in 50 lb. bags. PAC R high molecular weight polyanionic cellulose is used to provide filtration control and supplementary viscosity in most water-based drilling fluids. 
Available in 50 lb. bags. PAC LV polyanionic cellulose is used to provide filtration control in most water-based drilling fluids.
Available in 50 lb. bags. UltraStar USA is Carboxymethyl Starch or Poly Anionic Starch. It is manufactured as a fluid loss control agent for water based drilling fluids. UltraStar USA is crosslinked and this provides greater tolerance to heat, shear and salts compared to un-crosslinked carboxymethyl starches and some PACs.
Available in 50 lb sacks. A drilling-mud additive used to control fluid loss in water muds ranging from freshwater to saturated-salt to high-pH lime muds. Starches have thermal stability to about 250°F [121°C]. They are subject to bacterial attack unless protected by high salinity or bactericide. The use of starch typically causes a minimal increase in viscosity while effectively controlling fluid loss. 

Flocculants

Alcomer 24 is a medium-low molecular weight low anionic polyacrylamide based polymer. In micro-bead form, Alcomer 24 exhibits a fast dissolving rate and excellent final solubility. It has been specifically designed to flocculate water based drilling muds or sludges where such wastes are thickened or dewatered using mechanical equipment such as centrifuges. Operation over a wide range (5–11).
Available in 50 lb. pails or 50 lb. bags. Calcium Nitrate can be used as a calcium source in water and to aid in the dewatering process and solids removal. A fine granular material, it dissolves quickly in water without any residues.
Available in 50 lb. bags. Gypsum solubilizes in water, providing a calcium source which is needed for flocculate clays and solids in the dewatering or solids removal process.
Available in 55 lb. bags. Hyperdrill AF 204RD is a high molecular weight, medium charge polyacrylamide supplied as a dry granular powder. When added to a water-based drilling fluid, it disperses rapidly, and is very effective in removing most solids from drilling fluids.

Available in 5 gallon plastic pails. A synthetic polymer, MF-55 is a liquid emulsion that minimizes the disintegration and dispersion of clays and shale.

Loss Circulation Materials (LCM)

Available in 50 lb. bags in 3 grades: Fine, Medium, Course and Flake. CALCIUM CARBONATE (CaCO3) is ground and sized limestone and is an acid-soluble product that can be used as a weighting agent for drill-in or completion activities. CALCIUM CARBONATE is also used as a bridging agent for fluid loss, lost circulation or wellbore stability applications.

MAGMA FIBER is a specially formulated acid-soluble extrusion-spun mineral fiber. MAGMA FIBER is used in both water and oil-based fluids to control lost circulation. MAGMA FIBER is available in two grades: Fine and Coarse. Magma Fiber (Fine) is available in 25 lb. bags Magma Fiber (Coarse) is available in 30 lb. bags.

Pecan Shell may also be used as a granular-type lubricant for torque and drag. Pecan Shell is available in (median particle size): Fine (400-500 micron), Medium (1200-1500 micron) and Coarse (1600-2000 micron).

Lubricants

Available in 50 lb. bags in 3 grades: Fine, Medium and Course. Designed for all drilling mud applications, the solid glass ball bearings reduce friction and differential pressure. They are transparent, solid soda lime glass, free of pits and excess air bubbles and are chemically inert.
Available in 50 lb. sacks. Beads Graphite Fine are tiny carbonaceous spheres ranging in size from approximately 300 microns to approximately 50 microns. Beads Graphite Fine are highly effective lubricity agents and are recommended in applications which typically call for the use of glass or plastic beads.

They are highly effective lubricity agents recommended in applications which typically call for the use of glass or plastic beads. They are also effective in reducing fluid loss.

Oil-Based Mud Additives

Bri-Chem Supply Corp’s BCS-LERM Powder is an amine treated Organophilic Sepiolite used as a rheological additive in multi-base drilling fluids. BCS LERM Powder is a locally sourced Nevada Sepiolite which offers a cost effective alternative to other Attapulgite and Sepiolite based rheological modifiers. BSC-LERM Powder suspends drill cuttings and weighting materials, without adversely increasing viscosity. This allows low viscosity drilling fluids to attain a higher carrying capacity and solids removal. BSC-LERM Powder helps to prevent stuck pipe and barite sag in horizontal wells through solids suspension.
Available in 50 lb. sacks. Gilsonite is a naturally occurring hydrocarbon. There is no known history of dermatitis, lung disease, or other health problems associated with handling of Gilsonite as supplied. Dusts are subject to combustion. Normal precautions used with flammable materials apply.
Available in 50 pound bags and 2,000 pound super sacks. UltraTec G is a natural asphaltite used for filtrate loss and shale stability in oil-based drilling fluids. Because UltraTec G has a large molecular weight distribution and a high molecular weight, the softening point is high compared to other types of polymers allowing it to soften or deform as it is nears its softening point instead of completely melting into a low‐viscosity liquid. UltraTec G remains a high‐ viscosity liquid even when it is 20 degrees above its softening point.

Available in 55 gal. drums and 275 gallon totes. Rig Wash is a heavy-duty cleaner/degreaser formulated for oilfield and industrial use. This product cleans grease, oily dirt, and thick grime build-up from heavy equipment, machinery, tools, concrete floors, and metal surfaces. Specially formulated for offshore use, Rig Wash is biodegradable, contains no phosphorous or petroleum distillates, and will inhibit sheen formation in water. 

Salts

Available in 50 lb. bags. CALCIUM CHLORIDE is a basic inorganic salt (CaCl2) that is highly soluble in water. CALCIUM CHLORIDE is available in powder and prill grades and as a brine solution. CALCIUM CHLORIDE is used to provide chloride and calcium in a variety of applications. CALCIUM CHLORIDE is also used as a soluble weighting agent and in oil-based fluids to provide water-phase salinity (water activity).

Available in 50, 2,000 and 3,000 lb. bags as well as bulk. Sodium Chloride-Evaporated Industrial Grade Salt is a high purity salt used in bulk commercial manufacturing operations. It is a minimum 99.5% NaCl and contains virtually no insolubles. Our industrial grade products are uniform in crystal size, are fast dissolving, and produce clear brine. The product is produced to meet or exceed FDA and Food Chemical Codex standards for food grade salt and is annually certified kosher. 

Shale Control Inhibitors (Borehole Stabilizers)

Available in 5 gallon plastic pails. A high molecular weight, medium charge, polyacrylamide that can be used alone or in conjunction with KCL to stabilize active shales, generate viscosity, reduce friction, or stabilize foam. It can also be used as a flow line flocculant for clear water.
Available in 55 lb. bags. A low molecular weight, anionic polyacrylamide used as a shale inhibitor or friction reducer/lubricant.
Available in 50 lb. bags. This additive is a sodium sulfonate made water soluble by a unique sulfonation process. It stabilizes shale formations, significantly increases lubricity, and lowers HTHP water loss. 
Available in 50 lb. bag. Ultra Phalt is one of the leading sulfonates for stabilizing formations and for fluid loss control. It seals small fractures and works well with LCM materials.

Specialty Products

Available in 5 gallon pails, 55 gallon drums, or 275 gallon plastic totes. CI-100 is a corrosion inhibitor that has been developed for use in water base fluids and in air foam operations. CI-100 is a combination of corrosion inhibitors blended in a liquid solution, which provides, as a pacifier, for protection against oxygen. 
Available in 50 lb. sacks. CITRIC ACID (C6H8O7) is a multi-purpose weak organic acid which is widely used in oilfield completion and stimulation operations. 
Available in plastic buckets of 45 sticks. DRILL BIT STICKS/SOAP STICKS are a solid soap stick designed to lower the hydrostatic head in shallow, low pressure gas wells. They are also useful during top-hole drilling to prevent bit-balling and mud rings. They are designed to melt or dissolve quickly in hard or soft water at low temperatures. DRILL BIT STICKS/SOAP STICKS are 1⅜” in diameter and 15” long. 
Available in 5 gallon plastic pails. K-Bac is a 25 % Glutaraldehyde brine soluble blend containing a liquid aldehyde and benzyl chloride compound that yields excellent corrosion and biocidal properties. 
Available in 50, 70, 100 count cases. POLYMER STICK (HYDRO FOAM) is a solid stick made up of a combination of high molecular weight polyacrylamide and surfactants. POLYMER STICKS (HYDRO FOAM) are available in size 1¼” diameter and 15” long.

Viscosifiers/Suspending Agents

Available in 25 lb. bags. An economical dispersable xanthan gum biopolymer. It significantly enhances product dispersion and solubility and reduces the formation of fisheyes. It performs effectively in freshwater- and saltwater-based muds, as well as in brine-based workover and completion fluids in a wide range of pH.
Available in 50 or 100 lb. bags. This premium gel is a 90 BBL yield in fresh water, general purpose filler for use when mild thixotropic properties are desirable.
Available in 50 lb sacks. Salt Gel is a hydrous, magnesium silicate clay (attapulgite) that is utilized in water-based drilling fluids where the salinity exceeds 35,000 mg/L. 
Available in 50 lb. sacks and bulk bags. Sea Mud is a specialty drilling mud clay obtained from the only known commercial sepiolite deposit in the Western Hemisphere. It functions in a broad range of pH’s and is compatible with all common organic additives as well as thinners. Sea Mud has high hole cleaning capacity and weight suspending properties with excellent lubricity. 
Available in 50 lb. bags. An easy mixing, high viscosity 200 bbl yield freshwater drilling fluid. Certified to NSF/ANSI standard 60, Drinking Water Chemicals – Health Effects. Produced from the highest grade Wyoming sodium Bentonite. For all types of freshwater and rotary drilling.

Weighting Agents

Available in 100 lb. bags, Super Sacks and bulk tankers. A natural barium sulfate designed to meet all the requirements of drilling grade barite. It is used to increase the weight of fluids and meeting most API requirements except specific gravity.
